Treatment Decisions: Taking Control
I offer phone consultations to clients who have bought a Moss Report on their particular type of cancer. A phone consultation can be enormously helpful in drawing up a treatment strategy and getting one's options clearly prioritized. This week, a client offered the following comment:
We have Moss Reports on more than 240 different types of cancer. You can order a Moss Report and download it directly from our Web site, www.cancerdecisions.com.

We look forward to helping you. Avastin - Your Money or Your Life
Several targeted drugs have now been approved for use in cancer, but Avastin was the first of its particular type to be licensed by the FDA. Avastin is what is known as an "angiogenesis inhibitor." Angiogenesis inhibitors are designed to work by preventing tumors from developing new blood vessels. Without an abundant blood supply, a tumor cannot obtain sufficient nutrients and consequently its growth rate is slowed.
The advent of targeted agents over the past few years seemed to promise a more rational and subtle approach to the treatment of cancer. Thirty years of chemotherapy have not appreciably dented the rate of cancer deaths worldwide. Clearly, a new approach is long overdue. Might targeted agents such as Avastin be the harbinger of a new era in cancer treatment?
Our report: "Avastin - Your Money Or Your Life" examines the clinical evidence that has been gathered to date on the use of Avastin in several common types of cancer including colorectal, breast and lung cancer. The report also documents the mounting evidence of Avastin' disturbing side effects, and analyzes the implications, both to individuals and to society, of enormously expensive targeted drugs such as Avastin. This report is one our Current Topics series, a growing list of reports focusing on subjects of importance in the field of cancer prevention and treatment. These reports, averaging 30 pages in length, can also be purchased and downloaded directly from our Web site.
